| United Methodist Women | United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women who are committed to knowing God and becoming whole persons through Jesus Christ. Membership is open to all women who have a desire to belong and to participate in the mission of the church. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month, October through June. Through UMW, women strive to develop a creative and supportive fellowship. Meetings consist of inspirational and informational programs. For those women who wish to take on a more active role within the church, UMW can provide assistance and encouragement. Each October, the UMW prepares and hosts the annual Harvest Luncheon. The luncheon is open to the public and succeeds through the efforts of the entire church community. All moneys from UMW activities benefit local and global missions as determined by the membership. |
| United Methodist Men | The United Methodist Men has historically existed to support men in their spiritual journey and fellowship needs. Currently the men meet on an occasional basis, mostly project-oriented. |
| Daytimers | The Daytimers, an activity sponsored by the UMW, meets usually at noon on the 4th Wednesday of the month (Fall Spring). A covered dish lunch is followed by a program. The purpose is to provide a monthly outing for older persons who may find it difficult to get out in the evening. All people are encouraged to come to provide a variety of fellowship for all. |
| M & M Club | The M & M Club (Mr. & Mrs. Club) is comprised of couples who wish to enjoy Christian fellowship. Some meetings are strictly social, while others may feature a guest speaker or discussion of interest to the group. The group operates without officers or a budget. Interest rather than age is the criterion for membership and all couples are welcomed. |
| Good News Club | This group, designed for 3rd-5th graders, meets once a month to have some fun and to reach out to others. Last year, Good News Club participated in “Green Up Day,” cleaning up a section of beach on Lake Champlain. They also took a trip to the Shelburne Museum, went sledding, helped with our church’s “Sages and all Ages” party, and went miniature golfing (with Pizza!). |
| Youth Ministry | Our youth group offers opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth for young people in 6th -12th grades. We meet Sunday evenings from 4:00-5:30pm, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of every month from September through May. Our vision statement is "Reaching for God: Inside and Out." We are committed to reaching for God in our own lives, in our church, in the community, and out in the world. |
| All Church Family Ministry | This ministry provides outdoor activities for all people of the church, children, youth and adults. Activities include cross country skiing, day hikes, canoe outings, whale watches, travel adventures, etc. |
| Methodist Movers | Methodist Movers is a unique group of people from our church that helps move people from one house to another - FREE. When an individual or family is ready to move, they call Methodist Movers to help. The Methodist Movers show up with cars, vans, trucks, wagons, trailers, and appliance dollies to help. The furniture and boxes are quickly relayed outside, packed into vehicles, and transported by caravan to new location where the process is reversed. Often a circle is formed, hands held, and a song of rejoicing sung to mark a successful move. Most moves take 1 1/2 to 3 hours. The Methodist Movers are recruited from the pulpit and through notices in The Chimes. Come, join us and have some fun! |
